Conan (2003) Dark Horse Comics

03 Jun

Conan the BarbarianIn my younger days, I used to read comics such as Tintin, Asterix and Obelix, Archie’s, Jughead, and the occasional Marvel comic. However, it is at a much older age that I discovered this amazing illustrated version of Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian books. Conan has been often portrayed in comics by various artists, but I have to say that the Dark Horse conan comics really shine above all others. I seldom read comics now, but having picked up and read through Conan, I am tempted to once again revisit them.

The Conan comics are not for children – they deal with violence and gore, the very nature of Conan and pictured by Howard. The series stays faithful to the events of the book, so if you were planning on picking up the books again, I suggest you opt for the comics instead.

You can visit the Dark Horse Conan Zone or read more about them on Wikipedia.
